Brennan Bowman

Brennan believes in the journey, treating each dance floor he encounters like an expedition he is about to take with the dancers on the floor. He
believes in pursuing a solid Count Basie brass section or sprinting after the whisp of an intricate Sidney Bechet clarinet solo. No matter
where the voyage leads, Brennan strives to find new and old music that inspires and challenges dancers to create art in all dance forms. Having
honed his DJ skills with local and regional events beginning in 2009, Brennan has DJed at events including past Scramble Light Blues, Dayton
Swing Smackdown, Hawkeye Swing Festival, SwingIN, Pittstop, and many more. He greatly anticipates providing the solid rhythm to keep those feet moving all night.

Joey Science

Tia Science is a Chicago-based lindy hop and blues dancer, instructor and dj. Their love of authentic jazz and blues music means dancers will be kept grooving until the soles of their shoes fall straight off. Joey is just getting started taking their DJ show on the road, but has DJ'd for Penguin Swing previously, as well as Bluetopia, 50Fifty, and Savoy Stomp in Chicago.

Savannah Smith

Savannah is a proud Ball State alum! She has been dancing for six years and spent a minute DJing all over the Midwest for collegiate and national events. Her favorite style of blues is jukin', but has a healthy respect for the other styles as well. Her sets range from high energy Chicago blues to swanky New Orleans jazzy blues and everything in between. She doesn't DJ much anymore, but is always ready to DJ for the club she calls home. Because there's no place like home!

John Giannerini

A teacher and historian by craft, John found dance in the spring of 2010. John utilizes vast collection of blues music attained from his experience as a radio host, years of active travel to many dance scenes, research through the Smithsonian archives, and his personal collection of rare records to inspire you through the wee hours of the night.. Possessing a keen ear, John utilizes his passion for blues and jazz to compliment the dance floor. Originally hailing from the Chicago suburbs, John strives to convey the very essence of what it means to be alive through music and dance throughout the Midwest. John has been utilizing his craft at many regional events over the years such as ISLX, “Blues and Lights,” BluesCentral, ABLX, Scramble Light Blues, and many others.

Leah Dudak

Leah Dudak is a member of the University of Dayton swing dance club where she is president and has been dancing for three years, but is originally from the Chicago suburbs. She comes from a family where all sorts of music were played.

Her dad’s love of blues fed into hers, thus contributing to her catalog of songs. She has a base in older, traditional blues. She has DJ-ed at University of Dayton, the University of Miami, Scramble Light blues, Hallowswing, ISLX, Timewarp Swing, among others and is looking forward to another fun year at Scramble Light Blues!

Bryan Sykes

Bryan has been a DJ as long as he has been a dancer. Starting as a DJ and MC for weddings, Bryan combined this interest with his new found love for dancing. Bryan says that his opportunity to work as the sound tech at Cincinnati’s Blue Wisp Jazz Club has made him appreciate music even more. He is sure to surprise you with new finds and local artists as well as playing the classics we all know and love. A regular DJ in Cincinnati and at events like Blues in the Night, CincyLX, Pittstop, Summertime Blues, and many more, Bryan strives to play music that will move you emotionally, challenge you as a dancer, and keep you grooving way into the night!

Caitlyn Deeter

Ooooh boy, Caitlyn has finally decided to let her musical collection come out from its hiding place in Wooster, Ohio (no one else knows where it is either, don’t worry about it), and bring it to Scramble Light Blues for her DJ debut! She loves playing music that’s as sassy and full of as much blues energy as she is! Get ready to dance your feet off whenever this crazy cat is spinning tunes.

Shelby Pritt

Shelby’s love for jazz began at a very early age thanks to the great influence of her father.  Growing up, she became acquainted with the smooth tones of Ella Fitzgerald and Lena Horne which enticed her to delve deeper into the Bluer side of music.  Soon enough she fell in love with the deep tones and incredible storylines that blues music has to offer.  Two and a half years ago, Ball State Swing Society fostered that love by introducing her to the dance that coincides. Shelby is ecstatic to be bringing some sweet sounds to you in her third Scramble Light Blues appearance!
